RECAP: Oracle Primavera P6 EPPM R8.2 Implementation Boot Camp
Written on . By Tracy Mah
In September, I had the opportunity to attend one of Oracle’s Boot Camps for Primavera P6 Web Access Implementation in Denver, CO. The Oracle University Training Center was quite impressive which was located in the Denver Tech Center area.
The Boot Camp was a 5 day intensive course on how to configure Primavera P6 Web Access Release 8.2. The class was quite small, only 4 of us attended, but we were able to cover quite a lot of material in the 5 days. How to establish security in P6 was high on the priority for the configuration. Security in EPPM is primarily established through the EPS, OBS, Global and Project Security Profiles as well as User Access.
All of these elements are tied together along with a customized User Layout.Other topics such as Administration, Coding, Application Settings, Portfolios, Dashboards, and Risk were covered as well. In addition to the classroom style lessons, the class had quite a few group exercises which involved hands-on labs and scenarios.
Overall, I found that the Boot Camp was very informative. I am much more comfortable navigating and setting up P6 Web Access configurations.
